Product description
Built for upper primary classrooms, the Computer Science & AI Year 4–6 kit empowers Key Stage 2 pupils to deepen their programming logic and investigate real-world artificial intelligence concepts. Curriculum-aligned learning units guide pupils through loops, conditionals and variables, making abstract software concepts tangible through interactive LEGO models.
The kit includes a Double Motor, Colour Sensor and Connection Card, pairing seamlessly with the web-based Coding Canvas via Scratch-based Word Blocks. Pupils explore machine learning by training local AI classifiers to recognise gestures and physical triggers, with all data processed securely on-device. Designed for groups of four using a simple 4-digit Lesson PIN entry, educators benefit from ready-made classroom slides, teacher facilitation notes and zero software licensing fees.
Units
LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI Year 4–6 comes with 30 enquiry-based lessons across 6 structured units, including 24 core 45-minute sessions and 6 multi-session Design Challenges out of the box!

The Computer Science & AI Year 4–6 kit (#45521) is engineered for Key Stage 2 (Ages 8–11 / Years 3–6). It covers Scratch-based block programming, loops, conditionals, variables and machine learning principles.
Pupils train local AI machine learning models to recognise physical poses, gestures and color cards using their device webcam. The physical LEGO® model then responds automatically whenever the trained AI model identifies a match.
No, all video processing and machine learning model training occur 100% locally on the classroom device. No camera feeds, images or personal student data are ever uploaded to cloud servers or external databases.
The Computer Science & AI Year 4–6 kit (#45521) is engineered for Key Stage 2 (Ages 8–11 / Years 3–6). It covers Scratch-based block programming, loops, conditionals, variables and machine learning principles.
The curriculum units map directly to Key Stage 2 Computing outcomes, including designing algorithms, implementing decision logic (IF-THEN), using variables, debugging software and understanding how computers process real-world data.
